The ASB sponsored the 1966 Homecoming dance, uSay- onaraf' A Japanese theme was carried out in the decora- tions. Colorful umbrellas, fans, scrolls, and lanterns creat- ed the oriental atmosphere. To enter the dance, couples crossed a bridge over a small pond where white gardenias floated to represent lilies. A large Buddha enhanced the oriental theme. The balcony was softly lighted with swing- ing Japanese lanterns. Glass wind chimes hung from various archways and their delicate ring was heard throughout the mushroom. Cherry blossom trees were placed on the stage, balcony, and floor at the dance adding light pink color to the theme. The highlight of the dance was the crowning of the homecoming queen, Janet Keating, and the presentation of her court.
