Whites squelch Reds, 20 to 0: another victory for democracy! Ofhcers of the G.A.A. were treasurer Sally Strausz, president Cammy Mowery, vice-president Sue Steding. GAA The Girls' Athletic Association, under the guidance of Mrs. Lillian Zeigler, again enjoyed a full program of ath- letic activities. With the hope of improving physical skill and development of leadership, the club encouraged all interested girls to join. The extensive program consisted of volleyball, basketball, badminton, gymnastics, softball, and co-ed bowling. Twenty five points were needed to be admitted to the club. Points were gained by participating in after-school athletic activities. At various times throughout the year, the members were given the opportunity of competing against other high school G.A.A.'s in the King-co League. A P.E. class is part activity and part conversation.

Art Service Club The Art Service Club, under the supervision of Mrs. Ruth Patten, spent a colorful year doing the art work for functions sponsored by various clubs and painting publici- ty posters for all of our sports. Throughout the year, the twenty-five members showed exceptional interest in art which provided Mercer Island High with many colorful and humorous posters. The club met during the year as often as their services were needed. One of the clubs major projects this year was its outstand- ing work on g'Much Ado About Nothingf, President Cheryl 0'Hop and vice-president Fred Milkie presided over the group while it planned trips to art shows on M.l. that were displayed in our school during the past year. Much of the spirit and enthusiasm of Mercer Island High can be accredited to the constant efforts of the Art Service workers, who expressed numerous messages through creations of paper and paints. Officers Fred Milkie and Cheryl 0'Hop supplied the leadership for Art Service. vwcwf-Uiofw VX.-0-uzf5590-fLD 'L C5 Gig?
