Another Fine Season! The boy’s Cross Country Team had one of the best years ever in Mercer history. The boys ended the year with five invitational championships. These included the Pitt. Central Catholic, Neshannock, Sharon, Tri-County, and the County meet. The boys ended the dual meet season 8-0. They also went on to finish second at the district meet to North East. At the State meet the team finished third. The team is graduating four seniors. They are senior captains: Steve Forrester, Steve Hoover, Steve Podlaski, Jim Williams. Senior Steve Podlaski stated, “Overall it was a very good season. We had hoped to do better at districts and states, but an undefeated season and third in the state is nothing to complain about. The girls had a full team for the first time ever in Mercer history. They finished with a 2-3 record. They had no seniors on the team. They finished 5th in the county and 11th in the district. They had a fine first season and should look to be very competitive next year.
