Missing: Joni McCandless, Sharlene Jaillct. The yearbook staff began working on the 1980 yearbook in May of 1979. Editor Sue Maxwell made preliminary plans to include as many of the Mercer High School students as possible. The job was not always easy; it often required Sue and the photographers to climb to the roof of the school, venture into the aromatic Home Economics department and the not so aromatic gymnasium, and even risk life itself in the Junior High area of the building. With Bobbie as manager, the advertising staff of Hi-Times sold advertisements and books, providing the necessary funds to finance the yearbook. Under Sue’s direction, the layout staff worked hard to create a book of memories that covered the major events of 1979-1980.
