Senior Class Play “Rest Assured” On November 22, the Senior Class presented the hilarious three-act comedy. Rest Assured, written by Donald Payton. Under the direction of Miss Loretta McConnell, it was without doubt one of the funniest and best received productions ever staged at Mercer High School. Successful businessman, Mr. Morlock, (Fred Love), tries to prevent a marriage between his daughter, Mary, and Joe Lanconi, son of meat cutter, Luigi Lanconi, (Raymond Jewell). Luigi dies and returns to haunt Mr. Morlock, throwing the family into a dither. Then Mr. Morlock also dies and outrageously observes his family. Lucifer, realistically portrayed by Willie Shaver, comes to take Mr. Morlock to the “Lower Regions”. The maid, Mildred, (Sandy McGhee), finds Mr. Morlock merely sleeping on the sofa, and not at all dead, and peace is restored in the Morlock household. 10

When their baggage is unpacked, Trillium (Kathe Ragosta), a young student, recognizes an article that once belonged to her murdered father and which vanished at the time of his death. She is afraid to ask to which teacher it belongs, lest she alert the murderer. The killer (Ernie Kelly), disguised as a nun, stalks the corridors of the school seeking to find her alone.
