Jehdl the conviction that there is a time-honoredplaee for dedications in yearbooks--and we wouldbemu happy to be able to do this very thing. A But, because there have been so many persons n who have done an inestimable amount of work, and ' who have suffered countless privations, with no complaint, because of us, we feel eternally in- , 1 debted to attempt to give them some small retrr bution in print for their services. This, plus our gratitude beyond expression, is all we can offer them. I fi V We are heartened by the convection thati ese same benefactors are the ones whom we feel will 1 understand and appreciate our countless andhauv felt thanks Primarily, our expressions ofgratitude go to Miss Lillian Semple, our councellor and friend, Miss Semple has spent endless time helping us, and has impressed usvdth her wisdom and infenite patience As our friend she has radiated hope when ourlro gress was slow and tedious E? I X . A X xx af This production was possible only because the staff was willing to samdfice their own time and pleasures to work far into the night, in a cold school build- ing, in space stolen from anyone who could spare an inch, and under conditions which no staff has ever had to face We sincerely hope that in the future a - yearbook staffs will find their work more easy than we the staff of the 'Hi Times' Through all this the staff came out still smiling and willing to aid the class on to greater and more high honors We have in spite of all the hand- icaps and privatitations enjoyed the work that we have done with each other S here's to a newer and brighter future for Mercer and our expressed hope that our production will be accepted as one of the best We put a period to the last sentence with no little sense of sadness, and goodby to Mercer with a catch becoming to our ages, in our throats, so here we say our last goodby not only to Mercer High School, but to all the wonderful things which are a part of it The Staff Editor Howard Grundy Co Editor William Ligo Literary Editor Freda Zahniser Sports Editor Joe Ivers Art Editor Jean White Mary Stowe Erla Bauman Business Manager Sam Anderson lQQ,Z! The following officer were elected for the year. President ... Ronda Vogan Vice President Jane Gustln Secretary Margie Boydd Treasurer Chuck Persch are very proud of our ten band members and thirteen chorus members We an think our class has a musical career ahead of them The teachers even went far as to name our class 'Silent N1ght', because when they asked a question we we were all silent Our 'Motto' is,'Nothing Comes From Noth1ng', this we think suits our class perfectly had some trouble deciding on class colors and a class flower, but finally chose 'wine and white' as colors and the 'Yellow Rose' as our flower Our party, which was on April Fool's day was a real success and the hit of year The rest of our year was spent planning what we were going to do the next year as Sophmores, and in trying to get passing grades so that our plans could be fulfilled. 747't6Z5'Zyf fp I I I O I O C .
