Arlette Kl1ne ageant Grade 1 through grade 9 Chrlstrnas Around the World was presented by the pup1ls of grade 1 through grade 9 Th1s pageant depxcted scenes from Holland Norway Germany Mexxco Palestme Syria and the Umted States Many songs as well as dxalogue revealed how Chrxstmas IS celebrated m these dxfferent countr1es The costummg was applxcable to each country and 1n many lnstances set a very colorful plcture The custom of Panata from Mexlco created a bxg laugh Here the Panata large paper bag was suspended from the ce1l1ng near the mxddle of the stage by a heavy cord Thxs bag fxlled wnth candy and nuts was the target for several bhndfolded Mexxcan chxldren who struck at xt wxth a long slender stxck Flnally the blow that broke the sack set every youngster on the stage scramblmg after the candy and nuts St Nxcholas from Holland Krls Krxngle from Germany and Santa Claus from the Unlted States each appeared xn the costume of his own country The hxgh school glrls Glee Club sang the followxng songs between the dxfferent scenes ofthe pageant Whxte Chrxstmas Jzngle Bells Joy to the World and 1 ll Be Home For Chrxstmas Lunch consxstmg of cake sandwxches and coffee was served by members of the faculty at the close of the program Proceeds were added to the School Act1v1ty Fund 35 I I I . , . Hallozw en Party On October 3l 1950 at 8 o clock mn the evemng the .Tumors and Semors spon sored a party for the Sophomores Freshmen and Faculty xn the chool gymnasium For entertalnment we played the followmg games Three Deep Skxp to my Lou and Shot Put also rxddles were read and we were supposed to gxve the answers Lunch consxsted of sandwxches pxckles cake Jello and nop The party broke up about ten thxrty Tharksglz mg Party ln the evemng of November Z0 1950 at 7 30 p m the Soplomores and Fresh men gave a party for the Junxors Semors and Faculty at the schoolhouse The Vxrgxnla The The evenmg was spent playxng the followxng games Sk1p to my Lou Three Deep Reel and O Grady Says refreshments mncluded hot dog sandw1ches pxckles cake and pop only table appoxntments were lxghted candles Ch rzstmas Party The Junxors and Semors sponsored a Chrxstmas party Frxday December ZZ a l o clock mn the afternoon After playnng several games of volleyball g1ftS were opened and a delxcxous lunch WBS served Table decoratxons xncluded Santa Clauses made of apples and marshmallows Thxs party ended our school work and actxvxty for the year 1950 Everyone went home to enjoy a two weeks vacatxon 34 X 9 I I ' . l I V I - .
