Arlette Kl1ne ageant Grade 1 through grade 9 Chrlstrnas Around the World was presented by the pup1ls of grade 1 through grade 9 Th1s pageant depxcted scenes from Holland Norway Germany Mexxco Palestme Syria and the Umted States Many songs as well as dxalogue revealed how Chrxstmas IS celebrated m these dxfferent countr1es The costummg was applxcable to each country and 1n many lnstances set a very colorful plcture The custom of Panata from Mexlco created a bxg laugh Here the Panata large paper bag was suspended from the ce1l1ng near the mxddle of the stage by a heavy cord Thxs bag fxlled wnth candy and nuts was the target for several bhndfolded Mexxcan chxldren who struck at xt wxth a long slender stxck Flnally the blow that broke the sack set every youngster on the stage scramblmg after the candy and nuts St Nxcholas from Holland Krls Krxngle from Germany and Santa Claus from the Unlted States each appeared xn the costume of his own country The hxgh school glrls Glee Club sang the followxng songs between the dxfferent scenes ofthe pageant Whxte Chrxstmas Jzngle Bells Joy to the World and 1 ll Be Home For Chrxstmas Lunch consxstmg of cake sandwxches and coffee was served by members of the faculty at the close of the program Proceeds were added to the School Act1v1ty Fund 35 I I I . , .
