Przmary News Our school year began w1th twenty three pupmls Now we have only szxteen Makeeffs and Reverend Haars moved away whxch took flve out of our room Ronald Gessele came here for two months and then went back to the country school Darlene Jorgenson started school but xs stayxng home untxl next fall as her bxrthday came so late Now there are f1ve xn the second grade and eleven 1n the fxrst grade Our fxrst grade readmg class IS dlvxded xnto two groups the Jumpxng Rabbxts and the Busy Bees There are sxx Jumpxng Rabbxts and fxve Busy Bees We had a dress up party on Halloween We played games ate lunch and had our pxctures taken We also went through the other rooms so the others could see how funny we looked Our room was decorated for every month of the year In January we had snow men and lad1es on our wmdows They stood on snow Almost everyone xn our room eat Hot Lunch ln school Only two people brlng thexr dxnner palls and two people go home to eat All of us took part 1n the Chrxstmas program We sang songs and saxd pleces sent We played games and ate candy and nuts We studled all about Eslumos learned some Esk1mo words made booklets and pxctures of Esklmos and collected other plctures Two of our new l1brary books were storxes of Eskxmos We read those We had a valent1ne party wxth lots of valent1nes lunch and company Durlng the year we kept Ipana health charts We learned tne rlght way to brush our teeth We also had Good Breakfast charts to see lf we could eat better break fasts In December our teacher took all of us down town to go shoppmg We bought thxngs for Red Cross Boxes We fllled one box for a boy and one for a gzrl We are wantmg to hear from those who recexved our boxes We all joxned the Red Cross and wear our p1ns Many of us are almost through readmg exghteen books for our Readlng Cert1f1cates Kenneth B1rst and Lynn Ette Freeberg were the flrst ones through Those who have had perfect attendance so far are Elaxne and Jean Hmsz Martln Just Lynn Ette Freeberg Judxth Swendson and Bonnxe Lou Schell 2.1 ll-21 We hi d a Christmas party in our room.
