Class We, the members of the 1959 Class of Mercer High School, considering ourselves to be thoroughly drilled in Bookkeeping and English, knowing that we are the liveliest and probably the sweetest class yet to enter or leave our beloved and beautiful school and having been sufficiently educated to know the extent of our possessions and having a fixed purpose in mind as to how the same should be disposed of, do hereby will, devise and bequeath our possessions as follows: To the faculty, we will our junk including, 6 1 2 balls of A.B.C. chewing gum, 51 broken rubber bands, 4 waste cans of cheating notes, all of our unused manners, 2 dull pencils and last but not least, our deepest appreciation for your endurance and patience during the four years you have had us as students. To the Freshmen we will our good looks. To the Sophomores we will our desire to run the place. To the Juniors we will our unstained name. Joe Hanby wills his ability to out-smart Mr. Berry to Harry Wiley. Pauline Chilton and Shirley Devine will their love affairs to Joyce Ashford and Linda Scott. Roxie Dossett wills her 1, 000 lines not to chew gum in Mr. Pryse's class anymore to Ann Taylor. Diana McQueary, Ann Famey, and Ruby Proctor will their knowledge of shorthand to Bernice Best, Ernestine Sallee, and Brenda Combs. Marvin Smith wills his Senior Math grades to Denzil Barnes. Jackie Mills wills her driving ability to Linda Britton and Sue Isham. Guy McGinnis wills his lucky basketball uniform to George Barnett. Charles Sanders wills his ability to ride a motorcycle to Harvey Anderson. Jerry Wilson wills his nothing to nobody because he has nothing to spare. Billy Logue and Miller Horn will their baseball ability to Clyde Sims. Georgia Watts wills her ability to study to Sara Byrd. George Allen leaves his quiet personality to Wendell Gritton.
