DEDICATION 78 This yearfs book is dedicated to Mr. David Bu- chanan, co-ordinator of the aviation programs at MCCC. You can usually find him in his office, ET 121, buried beneath a pile of papers and constantly bombarded by students in need of his advice. De- spite the load he already carries, he is planning to add yet another full curriculum to complement MCCC's five aviation programs. Mr. Buchanan came to us well qualified. He holds a B.S. degree from Trenton State and a Masters from Lehigh in Administration. He is a Federal Aviation Administration Designated Safety Counselor and is a Certified lnstrument Flight Instructor. His Hight ratings have earned the college certification under the Federal Aviation Regulations Part 141 as a Private, Commercial and lnstrument Pilot Flight School. Coming to us from Camden County College in 1971, he served as a consultant to the development of the aviation programs here, but was not an official faculty member until 1974. He now serves as Asso- ciate Professor and Co-ordinator of the Aviation Programs. Highly contientious of his role in the community, he served the State of New Jersey as a consultant in the study on vocational aviation programs within the state, and, each year, under his direction, MCCC holds a Flight Safety Clinic in which not only students are invited but also members of the sur- rounding community. lt is because of this devotion to the competency of pilots, this total dedication to safety and the realiza- tion of lVlCCC's role in the aviation community that we dedicate this book to him. ' t f' I. KX ' it From the Editor When Janet Kozaehek came to us with her entry for the yearbook cover contest which, incidentally, was the only entryj, we asked to see more of her work. What she presented to us were these little gremlins she called groinks. We fell in love with them, and, because of such films as STAR WARS and CLOSE ENCOUNTERS being so popular, we felt that the groinks would be MCCC's contribution to the trendg you will End these froliking aliens throughout our pages. What we seek with this unique addition is to create a link between man and his universe. Too often, we find, that in our quest for self attain- ment our views become narrow and self-centered. We neglect to consider the far-reaching con- sequences of our pursuit for the better life. The continuing fuel crisis, depleted fresh water -lux A XX Q X A , ,. xs.
