L From: The Editors of VIKING '74 To: MCCC Class of '74 With the onset of each new school year, the production of a yearbook becomes more difficult. Many of us consider such a product irrelevent. The major difficulty is a lack of interest, a reluctance to participate actively, on the part of most students, even those with previous yearbook or newspaper experience. Last fall, a group of six or eight ldepending on the day, the climate, the timej vaguely experienced lin the ways of a yearbookj students gathered to become the staff of VIKING '74. There were many differences of opinion and some personality clashes which resulted in tears, apathy and disinterest. With the passing of time, however, we began to involve ourselves in the hundred things that had to be done, and under the pressure of deadlines, we produced what you see before you. On the day this letter was written, the book was sent to press. We aren't quite sure what the finished product will be, but to Diane, Bob, Sue, Tris, Dave, Greg and Ivory, our sincerest and heartfelt thanks. We're grateful to everybody who stuck it out to the end. And to you, fellow student and graduate, now and in the years to come when you look back on your memories of MCCC fwhich may or may not be represented herej, we take this opportunity to wish you joy, good luck, happiness and whatever else the good side of life has to offer.
