BUSINESS DE ELOPS SKILLS Mercedes hosts a very good Business Department. Among the courses offered are Typing I and II, Stenography, and a business course. Mercedes High School is the only high school in Texas to carry an all electric type-writing class. Manuscripts and jobs keep students typing. MUSIC AND ART DD CULTURE TO MHS Music and art classes add beauty and musical culture to our school. Mrs. Haynes introduces num- erous ideas and projects to her artistic students. Mr. Teltschik and Mr. Aguilar instruct our band into becoming one ofthe top ranking b and s in the Valley and state of Texas. Another outstanding cultural feature is our choir, directed by Mr. Penn. The ch o ir presents several concerts throughout the year. Mrs. Haynes enjoys helping her art students. 2......, Band members devote many hours of their spare time to prepare for the Pigskin Jubilee.
