Mrs. Barbara Halliburton Mrs. Emma Jean Sledge Mrs. Mary Stokes Main Office Secretary Main Office Secretary Librarian Ffa wr MHS has a two member counseling staff. Mrs. Barron helps upper classmen. Her main duties are preparing seniors for graduation and advising them on future activities. A new addition to the counseling staff is Mrs. Cowden. She devotes her time to coun- seling the freshmen. Mrs. Tankersley and Mrs. Freeman our two sec- retaries are kept busy throughout the day. They per- form such tasks as keeping records, issuing car per- mits, and many other jobs too numerous to mention. We also have a nurse, Mrs. Davidson, who tries to keep our students healthy. And Mrs. Stokes, our librarian. Mrs. Stokes has managed to keep our li- brary well supplied and arranged to the point where it is no longer a hard task to make a research paper on a given subject but an adventerous experience. Four years of English, as well as two of Speech, and tw o of Journalism are offered by the English Department to help achieve this goal. ln order to prepare for the UIL conte sts students are Mr. Smith gladly hands out papers to students. urged to atte nd plays at Kingsville and Weslaco. In turn this will allow them to develop their skills in drama and their knowledge of literature. English IV students eagerly listen to Mrs. Hild.
