The bancl, led by high-stepping Jim Gaebe, showed great school spirit and by doing so they helped to boost school morale. Mr. Joseph Guthrie, the band's new director, worked long and hard to get the band into shape for the All Western Band Review held at Long Beach, in which they placed first. The Four Darlings were stunning in their new uniforms. They worked hard on their routines this year and did an excellent iob. They placed fourth at Long Beach. The flag- bearers, too, did their part in making the band great. The chief purpose of this group was to pro- mote the appreciation of good drama by present- ing plays. Energetic, enthusiastic, and full of spirit definitely describe this year's yell leaders. Our yell leaders appeared before the public in very collegiate outfits. When we had assemblies, our yell lead- ers were continually promoting school spirit. They taught us many new yells as well as skits and tricks. For their generous, unselfish service, the student body is grateful to John Klingen, Julie Thompson, Sandy Norman, Louise Rosasco and Sharon Enloe. The Varsity Yell-Leaders took time out from their busy schedule to pose for our camera. .,., .-..e . Y . . Led by our head Pommerette, Caro- lyn Silva, they livened up all our football and basketball games, They could also be seen at assemblies and rallies iumping around and waving their pom-poms. The girls looked striking in their new black and white uniforms with orange M's. They added a lot to our school and team spirit with their smiling faces and flashing pom- poms. Delaine Hodges !
