Ui lVl.l.l.l-l MISS MARY BRUN The French tricolor waves on our title page in salute to Miss Mary Brun of the French Department to whom this 1953 El Rodeo is af- fectionately dedicated. Our moderne-French theme has been carried out in her honor, and we have dedicated the yearbook to her because of her never-ceasing efforts in behalf of our graduating seniors. Perhaps we have not fully recognized the fact that Miss Brun cheer- fully gives a great deal of her time, especially in the latter part of the school year, to checking and aiding in the selection of the schol- arships that are given to our seniors on graduation day. This involves contacting all schools and organizations which offer college or career opportunities to high'school seniors. For nineteen years Miss Brun has given generously of her time and interest to Merced High students. May the future hold much happi- ness and good fortune for this friendly petite teacher and may she always be appreciated by us students as our true and sincere friend.
