S EN lllll lQ lUlILJ5XSS The class of '53 started its career in the year of l949. They worked hard to give candy sales and dances to raise money. During their sophomore year the honor of '53 was lost in the Brawl, just as it was in the freshman year, and so for two years they had to sit in the back of the auditorium during assemblies. But '53 came back the next year with the best Prom that was ever given-and it will always be remembered just that way! Last, but not least, came this, the senior year which ends the history of the '53 class. Yet, closing their career here at Merced High, they can say that they have completed four rich years of life that will never be forgotten. fNot pictured in the Senior Section are graduates Bill Molina and Garland Moore.l Top Strip: President Duane Blakeman. Middle Strip: Treasurer Keith Ann Albin, Vice President Marvin Hansen, Secretary Dueda Gotcher. Bottom Strip: The Junior- Senior Prom had a French theme and was enjoyed by everyone there. Represen- tatives Foster Fluetsch and Kevin McCray. An After-the-Game dance given by the Senior class.
