The first Yosemite League Cham- pionship in many a year was won in '51 by the polished football lightweights of Coaches Devaurs and Canepa. Sharing of the coveted crown with Roosevelt and Hanford in no way dimmed the luster of their feat. Enthusiastic rooters followed the Cubs this year in greater numbers than ever before. The playing of light- weight games as preliminaries to varsity games proved beneficial to the win-record. At season's end the B's gradu- ated only Guard Wilburn BeShears and End Lowell Shifley.
