— Dedication The Class of 1984 is honored to dedicate its yearbook to Mr. Paul Limmer. He has shown his versatility, both as a teacher and friend over the years. Most of the students at Mepham know Mr. Limmer as an Earth Science teacher who spends most of his free time coaching the track teams. Coach Limmer’s interest in sports peaked well before he arrived at Mepham. He was an outstanding athlete at Elmont Memorial High School where he pitched two no hitters as a senior baseball player. He went on to study at SUNY at Cortland and then received his Masters Degree from Hofstra University. In 1963, he came to teach at Mepham. He has been assistant coach of our football team, but is better known for coaching our track teams to many victories over the years. Coach Limmer spends just about every weekend of the school year with the team over and above what is required. He has helped many students receive athletic scholarships to such colleges as Bucknell, St. John’s and University of Pennsylvania. It is his dedication to the students of Mepham, both in and out of the classroom, that adds to the pride in our school. For all the time and effort he has put in beyond the call of duty, we would like to say “Thank you.” 20 Dedication

Mr. Rutlcy, our principal at Mepham High School came to Mepham in 1980 after teaching mathematics for nine years. He attended Brooklyn Tech High School and then SUNY at Albany. After a short stay in the Army, he went to teach at John F. Kennedy High School. The class of 1984, as Mr. Rutley states, is a very active group on the whole. Many students are involved in several activities which is very important to enhance the school spirit. Always remember, “anything you can imagine yourself accomplishing is worth the effort.” MR. K. RUTLEY PRINCIPAL 22 Faculty
