Mr. Gerald E. Tarbell In 1953 Mr. Tarbell arrived in Central High School District Three as a Physics teacher, a position he held until 1958. when as a link between individual students and school administration, he became Assistant Principal. Educated at Saint Lawrence University. Mr. Tarbell chose to study beyond Bachelor and Master levels at the University of Maine, the University of Michigan, and New York University. Being a versatile and active administrator. Mr. Tarbell is highly respected for his understanding and experience in dealing with young people. Assistant Principals Mr. Michael J. Cortale Joining Mepham's executive administration in 1966 as Assistant to the Principal, Mr. Michael Cortale serves in various capacities; he is in charge of textbooks, attendance, the supervision of extra-curricular activities, and monetary responsibilities. He also cooperates with Mr. Tarbell in the supervision of audio-visual aid and in the area of discipline. Mr. Cortale taught business at Mep-ham and was senior class advisor to the ‘58 and ‘59 classes. He was a guidance counselor at Jerusalem Ave. Jr. High School and assistant principal at Brookside Jr. High School before coming to Mepham. 23
