To our Mepham High School Students: It has been a pleasure to serve you as Principal of the District during the past school year. The record shows many fine accomplishments on your part in all phases of educational activity. Your school and your community congratulate you and join you in a sense of pride for a job well done. The work of chief school administrator for Central High School District No. 3 encompasses many duties and responsibilities. Our main concern is that each of you take full advantage, in terms of your ability, of the many varied opportunities that are made available to you. Our Board of Education sets the policy under which this school system operates. This policy is then administered through the central office, the Mepham High School office and the faculty. The fine quality of education that you have received results from the cooperation on the part of all concerned and the degree to which you have applied yourself. Our many scholarship winners are to be congratulated upon demonstrating their use of their ability and talents. Mr. Tennant, Mr. Tarbell, and Mr. Rutley as administrators, as well as your teachers, deserve a great deal of credit for their personal interest in you and your progress. As this Senior Class leaves Mepham High School to pursue higher education, or take its place in our ever-changing world, I extend my very best wishes. Dr. Julius C. Braun Principal of the District

Mr. John Mahon Treasurer Mrs. Ruth Hamilton District Clerk Mr. Bernard Morris Attorney The Board of Education plays a vital role in establishing district and school policies. Under this year’s president, Miss Katherine E. Reif, its activities included raising money to operate the schools in Central High School District 3, keeping abreast of new educational developments, and hiring the teaching staff of the district. As a result of a yearly report received by the Board on the upkeep and maintenance of the district’s buildings, Calhoun’s field is being upgraded, and the roofs of three of the schools are being repaired. Briefs are prepared each year to be sent to the New York legislature regarding the financial state of the district. In addition, the Board meets for discussions and lectures on current educational trends. The Public Relations Committee keeps the public informed about Board activities, as the Board is actually only a representative of the people. The members of the Board of Education are dedicated to the improvement of schools in this district. They are actively concerned with every student, and their efforts have earned our greatest thanks and admiration. Board of Education 10 STANDING: Dr. Julius Braun, Mr. Harry Cambell, Mr. Charles Reinhart, Mr. Richard Irwin, Mr. John Martin, Mr. William Klare, SEATED: Mr. Eugene Adams, Miss Katherine Reif, Mr. Edward Lehman.
