THIRD: Sherry Yazel, Patsy Smith, Carolyn Warren, Tom Whetstone, Danny Smythe, Ronald Slone, Mr. Bush, Steve Tucker, Danny Bruner, Lonnie Witham, Danny Manwaring, Steve Lewis, Ken Romine The Mentone Band placed first in their division at the North Webster Mermaid Parade, and they placed second at the Bremen Youth Fair. They also marched at the Delaware County Fair, Silver Lake Centennial, Indiana State Fair, Kosciusko County Fair, Pioneer Day Parade, and they held a Halloween parade. During the summer they held band con- certs and Ice Cream Socials. The band marched and played during halves at the home basketball games. The following students won the right to participate in the state contest: Ruth Drudge, Mona Ross, horn duet; Linda Mellott, Wayne Burkey, Roger Mollenhour, cornet trio; Tana Henderson, Diane Blackburn, Madonna Nellans, Janet Besson, clarinet quartet.
