Text from Pages 1 - 72 of the 1960 volume:

Come with us through the open doors of knowledge. Meet our administration, our faculty, and our friends. Observe our efforts, our achievements, and become a member of our classes. The 1960 MEMORIES opens the door to the life of our school. ‘TPte i ye: Ti cuf fo t£e '?utune For all your days prepare, And meet them ever alike; When you are the anvil, bear - When you are the hammer, strike. Many years ago, I heard a minister preach a sermon on these four lines from the poem Preparedness by Edwin Markham. This philosophy of education was good in Markham's generation. By studying the words and listening to the sermon, I found that they are the core and crux of all my teaching and learning experiences. I believe this principle will suffice for future generations; therefore, I am passing it on to you, the Youth of Mentone School.
