TWENTY-THREE Sophomore News All the members of the class were back in school this year. There were also three new faces: Melvin Keplinger. lohn Nichols, and James Irwin from Burket. After Christmas vacation there were two more new students: Susie Houch from Illinois, and Bill McGinnis from Fulton. Class officers were: President—Jim Manwaring Vice-President—Sue Shoemaker Secretary—Melvin Keplinger Treasurer—Deanna Hatfield Student Council—Timmy Utter We had our Christmas party at Diane Doyle's home. For our second party we went bowling and to a show. Our money-making project was our magazines sales. We sold $1617.76 worth. The high sales- man was Timmy Utter with $322.82. Others who sold over a hundred dollars were: Sharlene Ware with $185.64; Lee Markley with $142.40; and Don- na Eaton, with $133.50. The magazine sales added $566.48 to our class treasury. In occupation class we visited the state hospital at Logansport. At the District Vocal Contest, which was held at Warsaw, Donna Eaton received a superior rat- ing. TWENTY-FIVE Sandra Smythe Larry Teel Terry Tucker Beverly Walbum Rachel Walters Ronald Walton Jerry Zehrung Class of 1959 During the summer three students from our class moved away: Charles Woods, Sue Lane Anglin, and Sara Jane Benson. Sally Slater and Eli Schumaker also moved away during the first semester. Gretchen Persons entered our class from Anderson and Jim Feldman came back from Tip- pecanoe at the beginning of the first semester. There also are six students transferred from Bur- ket: Mama Goshert, Margaret Baugher, Tom Hollo- way, Terry Lynch, Robert Haupert, and Charles McSherry. We enjoyed a class party in the form of a pot- luck supper on December 13, 1955, at the home of Sandra Dorell. The following class officers were elected: President—Larry Teel Vice-president—Larry Hatfield Secretary-treasurer—Larry Nellans Student council—Larry Teel, Larry Nellans Reporter—Sandra Barkman Sponsor—Mr. Kelley Several of our class members were active in the following extra activities besides the regular subjects: art, chorus, F.
