Managerial crew, Mike O'Neil, Ralph Allen, Bill King, and David Diffendorfer, move in. VARSITY The 1959 Indian troop, gradually improving their attack, outscored their opponents 1324 to 1265 points. Although only one regular and three lettermen returned from the previous year, the team excelled its opponents in scoring. Those ac- counting for the largest percentage of these points were Pete Noreen, Dave Sjuggerud, llarold Fletcher, Ron Larson, and Carl Retzloff, These players also constituted the usual start- ing five. Senior and four year letter winner, Pete Noreen, was pronounced honorary captain and most valuable player by his teammates, Dave Sjuggerud, a junior, was selected as the most improved player of the year. The sub-regional tournaments were held at Chippewa Falls. The team's first opponent was Mondovi, whom they had previously beaten twice. The most important game of the year with Eau Claire ended in a tumultuous final minute, In the regional consolation, the Indians showed Stanley their ability by defeating them by 23 points, Six boys of the 12 man team were over six feet tall.
