...I- In the fall a young girl's fancy likely turns to thoughts of . . . tumbling! All the youngM.H.S. girls who are able to meet the requirements earn a berth on either the A or B Tumbling Team. First of all, muscles lax from disuse must be stretched back into good tumbling condition for the splits, the backbend, and the handspring. But soon this painful part is over, and the girls begin planning, perfecting, and performing new feats of gymnastic skills. B Team members practice continually in the hope of stepping up to A Team. For the A Team it's a constant search for something new and different with which to wow the crowd when the gals perform at a mid-season basketball game. Who stole my Bt'rmudas'? Congratulations, you kids played a good game. Oh, well, l don't feel too had. We played our best. These are just a few of the remarks heard in the locker room after a thrilling G. A, A. basketball game in the gym. The fun and companionship exper- ienced at these games more than make up for the sore wrists and floor burns that the enthu- siastic players acquire. Intramural spectators gaze intently at the action of a basketball game. Hurry up with the food, will yah! We start playing in five minutes. This is the common com- plaint ofthe intramural participants who hold forth every noon at the gym or on Ballentine Field. They bolt their food, dash to the gym, change their clothesg in a few minutes the Spartans are pitching horseshoes against the I-lawkeyesg the Buckeyes are hitting the birdie against the Gophers.
