STUDENT COUNCIL BUSY AS BEES Be helpful, be thinking, be working . . these are the be's of the Student Council members, the busiest bees around school, Although many were scholastic leaders and workers in several other or- ganizations, they found time to really pitch in on Council projects. In the fall before most noses were pressed against the grindstone, the Student Council members started the long, hard, but exciting plans for Homecoming festivities. Cold weather may have frozen the spirits of some, but it stimulated these kids to a victorious March of Dimes drive. Through a candy sale and street-corner collecting, the Council netted over 35580. Latelanuary found the Council members rather out of breath. Mike O'Neill had labored long hard hours on S100 hi-fi speakers which were initiated at a Hi-Fi Dance, The All Sports Dance called for program planning and decorations. A week later students slipped and slid, danced and dined their way to a wonderful time at the Sports Spree. Throughoutthe year the Council members were helped, encouraged, and thanked by those who de- served just as much credit. . the advisers, Mrs. Alice Oetting and Mr. Roger House.
