BOB WIENS EDITH WIEBE VIOLA WILMS A bit of nonsense is How dull it is to rust I ' d like to get away relished by the best of unburnished, not to from earth awhile and men. shine in use. then come back to it and begin over. GRADE ELEVEN A CLASS REPORT Our classroom is often like a ship on high seas. Storms rage around us making calm days rare. I Excitement and high spirits are usually the order of the day. The reactions of the crew on the first day I of our voyage were varied. For some it was only another tedious journey which forbode more trouble than I pleasure. To others it was a thrilling adventure, a real challenge, a promise of new hopes realized, new I goals for which to strive, and new fields of learning to be conquered. With a very competent captain in I Mr. Visch our crew of thirty-five set sail. What lay ahead? Would we all be able to weather the storms and I eventually reach our goal? Our first storm came in the form of Christmas examinations. Few were prepared when the warning I was given, and so, for many, frenzied preparations were necessary. When reports of the damage done I were issued some of us were almost ready to mutiny, but, with a new year, detemination once again won I the upperhand and we set about to repair and strengthen our frail craft. Already we hear rumours of a I hurricane which is due to assault us in mid-June. We will have to redeem the time in order to buffet I this attack, but, with a skilful captain at the helm, we are confident that we will be able to withstand even I this vicious onslaught - and rise victorious! Until then - bon voyage! - Elsie Klassen GRADE ELEVEN B CLASS REPORT On the first, long awaited, day of school, thirty-eight students entered the bright grade UB room, ready I for another year oftedious work and some play. It was soon discovered that play was practically eliminated, for we were now in grade eleven. Our spells of enjoyment have hinged mostly on socials; including bowling and tobagganing parties. Despite the addition of the gymnasium, we were limited to one P. T. period a week. Hard work has prevailed all year. We have had to cope with physics, chemistry and literature. In return we got one study period which was later substitued for a P.T. period. Through our morning devotions, religious periods, prayer meetings, and religious emphasis week, we have been spiritually blessed. We have learned to understand religion better and know how much we really owe our Master. Academically, we have gained in our knowledge and spiritually we have added to our wisdom. -Jake This sen 31
