Left to right — Katharine Reimer, Lydia Berg Sig Polle, Arthur Willms (Chairman), Melvin Toews. Recreation played an important part in our College program. The activities in which we participated were designed to invigorate the body as well as the mind. Our regular program consisted of volleyball, basketball, ping-pong, hockey, skating, and baseball. Teams were organized and a number of games were played against the Mennonite Brethren Collegiate Institute. With the addition of several “rookies” from the East and West, the College produced a high calibre of play. MR. PETERS Staff Advisor The committee arranged a number of “socials” which were enjoyed by students and teachers alike. Exchange visits with the students of the Cnaadian Mennonite Bible College proved to be highlights of the year. Many lessons that find application in successful Christian service are learned in competitive recreation. Where can you better learn to co¬ operate with others, to accept defeat graciously, and to exercise self-control than in the area of recreation? It is our motto, that “Whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him”.—(Colossians 3:17). Art Willms

M E D I C A L A I D The Medical Aid Association has been founded in accordance with the exnor- tation in Galatians 6:2, “Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” The purpose of the association is to promote good health among the students, to main¬ tain a high standard of sanitation in the campus buildings, to provide first aid, to practise preventative medicine, and to assist in the financial settlement of the medical expenses which are incurred. The student body was not altogether spared illness this year. Several casual¬ ties were due to the extreme activity of students. The consequence was loss of co¬ ordination of limbs. Resulting sprains were painful and convalescence was slow. The ambitious student, in his unending search after knowledge and in his continuous concentration, suffered from either of two extremes — insensibility to subject matter or pounding headache. Diversion of activity with the aid of an aspirin soon brought the desired relief. Surgery and wearisome hours in the hospital were the lot of others. The common cold and digestive disorders have made inroads among the student body as well. Members suffering from major afflictions or minor discomforts have, however, through treatment, medication, and reassurance made satisfactory recoveries. We owe our thanks to God for the protection we have experienced and the health we have enjoyed this year. Louise Koop
