MR. GIESBRECHT Staff Advisor Left to right — Anne Loewen, John Toews, Helen Fast, Dave Loewen (Chairman), Myrtle Mendel and Siegfried Epp. n m m fc s I “The PRAYER of a righteous man has great power in its effects” (James 5:16b). One of the Christian’s primary tasks is evangelism. We are responsible for bringing the “Living Water” to our generation. Our task at College is accomplished by many and varied phases of devoted labour such as personal work, preaching, and pastoring. The part of the Foreign Missions Committee of our school in this great work of evangelism, is to promote the ministry of prayer. Knowing that continuous prayer has great power in its effects, we have taken upon ourselves the task of interceding for lost humanity and for the evangelistic witness of today. We have a threefold purpose in our intercessory program. Firstly, our prayer to God is that men everywhere might be saved from an eternity of death to an eternity of life. Secondly, it is our concern that through this prayer program each student will become aware of his responsibility to this age and will become burdened for the souls still lost in sin. Thirdly, it is our aim to acquaint ourselves with the work of our mission board and the efforts of other evangelical missions, in order that we may become aware of what is being done and what is yet to be done. We believe, that with these purposes accomplished, we as students will be more ready to hear and answer God’s call to service. God has answered our prayers and many students have become burdened for missions. We are grateful for this and shall continue to make our requests known unto God. Dave Loewen.
