These same eager boys and girls took their high-school entrance test in May, 1947, and entered A. H, S, as fourteen timid freshmen who were soon initiated. Major ac- tivities of their junior year were a visit to the Pennsylvania State Farm Show and a moonlight hike up Stone Mountain. The activities of the eleven distinguished seniors of Allensville High in 1949 included a visit to the state capitalg a tour of Gettysburgg a day at the Pennsylvania State Farm Showg a trip to Philadelphiag presentation of the play, Keep Moving , with Mrs. Allison as directorg selling magazine subscriptionsg moonlight hike up Stone Mountaing the alumni banquetg the Senior Banquet at l-lelfrick's Inn the Pinesg Graduation -- an everlasting memoryg and a trip to Washington, D. C. Because of the consolidation of Menno and Union Townships they entered the high school at Belleville for their final year. Meanwhile in Union Township ............... In 1939 the doors of Belleville Vocational School were opened to twenty-nine shining faces supervised by Miss I-Ionoure. After eight years of study and sport they took their Entrance Exam and found themselves ready to enter B, H. S. in September, l947. At the annual Halloween party we were formally introduced via the initiation by the seniors. To raise the financial status of the class, the boys sold Christmas trees. Outstanding events of the sophomore year were selling Christmas cardsg a surprise birthday party for their advisor, Miss Seeseg and receiving their green-and-white class hats. Their junior year started with a bang by the choosing of class rings and pennants. They gave one of the best Junior- Senior Proms B.H,S, ever had. Easter candy sales provided the cash for that event. . And now in 1950 ............... They finally reached their goal--Seniors! Prime events which occurred were the initiation of the freshmen at the Halloween partyg a very successful senior play directed by Mrs. Flemingg selling Christmas candyg a gala Junior-Senior Prom by the juniorsg baccalaureateg and the publishing of the yearbook under Miss Jones' direction. The final event was graduation, as the first graduating class of M. U. H. S,
