Class H1st0ry ln September 1939 about 8 30 AM a group of small chxldren gathered at the Menlo Consolxdated School to began twelve years of hard work and play Among those begxnners were Harry Dxble Melvm Chrxstensen Loretta Burger Bonme Ferguson .Tackle Lmester Albert Hoff Elta Detjen Betty Rome Jean Rome Ruth Gxlbert Bern1ce Kmderckmck and Jean Burgess During our e1ght years of grade school we dechned ln our number of students Our Freshman year we had s1x enrolled We enjoyed many class partxes wxth our sponsor Cy Summerson In the Sophomore year we had two new students enrolled They were Earl and Johnny Moss Thls mcreased our number to exght Our sponsor was Dale Kelly The Junnor year we stxll had the same number enrolled We presented one one act play Buddy Answers An Ad lt was glven to help the Semors make some money Then we gave a play on our own hook The txtle was Comm Round the Moun tm Thxs year our Semor year everyone stxll remains present We presented a play entltled ln Agaln Out Agam Class Prophecy 1960 Ch1ll1cothe Mxssourx Mr and Mrs Butch Chllds are happlly marrxed lxvxng in m the Army 1960 Menlo Kansas .Tackle Lzester IS very happy l1v1ng as an old maid w1th her folks and the sltuatxon looks much worse than m the school year of 1950 1960 Seattle Washington Loretta 1S an R N xn a Navy hospital m Seattle Her Navy husband IS now mn command of hxs own shlp 1960 Loveland Colorado Melv1n made a great name for hxmself as a star basketball player at A and M He IS now hvmg on a ranch wxth hrs w1fe and two chzldren 1960 Menlo Kansas After one year at Manhattan Harry marrled and moved to a farm of h1s own near Menlo where he IS now hvmg wlth hrs wlfe and four chlldren 1960 Menlo Kansas Johnme took over h1s dad sfarm after leavlng school H marrxed a gxrl from Hoxle and they now have one little boy 1960 Murac Cahforma Jumor IS ch1ef mechamc in charge of the over haulmg of Navy planes He llkes hxs work very much and has made good name for hzmself 1960 Hoxxe Kansas Upon returnxng from hrs few years of servlce for Uncle Sam Earl as marrxed and settled down on a farm near Hoxxe where h1s brlde lxved 7 Chillicothe with their three children.
