Class Hzstory 1950 Back ln 1938 on a br1ght sunny mornlng ln September a group of very excxted youngsters gathered ln the primary room of lvlenlo Consolidated School There were exghteen ln all Hazel Neal started us on the road of Readxng Rltln and Rxthmetlc Funny as xt may seem we have survwed the snowball fxghts roller skates standlng 1n the corner rubber bands and paper wads We mustn t forget the teachers e1ther In elementary school they were Hazel Neal Mary Lemons Dorls Moos Lola Og1er Ethel Harms Della Balley Erma Hoppas and Ardith McKenney Afternoon assemblles acquamted us wxth the stage and ln our fourth year a group dressed up as Darkles won f1rst pr1ze at an amateur program s1ng1ng Camptown Races started on the road to basketball fame We graduated from the e1ghth grade 1n 1946 The speech gwen at our commencement exerclses was entltled Stmck Your Neck Out That was our motto all through h1gh school li anythlng was done Our Freshman and Sophomore vears were under the 1eadersh1p of Frank Summerson and Arthur Cooper we had class partxes, semester tests and a lot of fun We had a new fr1enu ln class Shorty Durmg our Jumor year Myrtle Newbold was our sponsor We presented the play Who Kllled Aunt Carol1ne'P We chose a Dutch garden as our banquet theme and boys bu1lt a Dutch M111 Our Semor year we lost Lucy Lletz and gamed Lloyd Yoeman Our sponsor IS Hazel K1rchner We presented three one act plays m November We chose Ghost In The Belfry for the annual Semo Play Our last Journey down memory lane IS our sneak wh1ch ms to be taken after the school year 8 In grade school we had basketball teams, too, The boys won trophies and
