through activity . . . The journey through athletics provides favorable opportunities to discipline both minds and bodies. Participants strive to excel by making full use of their capabilities. This phase of life is rewarded with a real sense of accom- plishment as athletes strive-and win. An individual tackles the problems of competition and learns to couple de- feat with ambitions, and to attain new goals. Spectators, also, involve them- selves by giving confidence to teams with loyal support.

The student matures and sets academic standards for himself. Each per- son can look at different viewpoints, assim- ilate his own beliefs, and attain more of his own individuality. In more scientific en- deavors, students can learn fundamentals and strive to further their knowledge by pursuing their own questions with creative techniques. By taking advantage of such organizations as the Inter-racial club, stu- dents can take positive actions in accord- ance with their opinions, They build a real place for themselves in the world by exper- imenting with new methods to solve old problems. 5
