HOMECOMING 1988 Sandy Kilgore was crowned Homecoming Queen during the halftime of the game with Lewis County on February 23. The ceremony began as the sixteen candidates and their escorts were introduced. Next, six former MCHS queens were introduced. The former queens were Tammie Nolan Carty, 1 78; Kathy Peck Daulton, 1979; Denita Murphy Wilhoit, 1984; Jami Trimble, 1985; Teresa Brown, 1986; and Jamie Henry, 1987. Sandy Kilgore, the 1988 Homecoming QuCen, was escorted by Guido Finger. Jenifer Back, escorted by Jim Lawson, was First Runner-up. Tina Back, escorted by R.T. Little, was Second Runner-up. Heather Fox, escorted by Shawn Nickell, was Third Runner-up. Teresa Brown, 1986 queen, was presented flowers by Gregg Thomas. Angie Ingram, escorted by Johnny Rose, was Fourth Runner-up. Future Menifee County High School teachers, Brent Maynard and Johnny Kilgore. Steph, Sis, and Jami—mountain women of Menifee County Homecoming Week On February 18, the annual homecoming week began with students dressing up for a summer day. Even though it was very chilly outside, several students braved the cold and wore jams and T-shirts. The second day was hill- billy day. Everyone came off the mountain to gossip for a day. On February 22, the common people were overtaken by a super-intelligent race, nerds. Everyone wore his or her plaid shirt, pocket protecters, and taped glasses. The last day was the traditional school colors day. Every- one was wearing green and white. Seventh period a pep rally was held to support and boost the basketball players. The seniors won the Spirit Stick for yelling the loudest. Everyone knew senior mouths were good for something.
