It has always been something special. It is more than just running up and down the gym floor, dribbling and shooting a basketball. BASKETBALL IS PRIDE: Pride is the quality that will so often come out in a boy under pressure. Pride is something that will make you try a little harder when you are behind. Practice a little longer than the other boys because you have some pride in yourself and your team. Pride is that quality that makes a player a true team man in every way both on and off the basketball court. BASKETBALL IS CHARACTER: This is a quality that can be taught to boys and girls. One of the greatest rewards any coach can ever have is to see a boy develop as an individual. To become conscious of his appearance, his manners, his personality. The things that separate a good student from a dead head. BASKETBALL IS SPORTSMANSHIP : For every game that is played of any kind there is a loser as well as a winner. Life is like that-there are good days, and bad days. Everyone must learn to accept this. I think basketball helps accomplish this; and bring home this fact to boys. Win with humility, lose with grace. Teaching and coaching are everything to me. I would not have it any other way. A SALUTE TO MAXWELL RED HENRY. When Mr. Maxwell Red Henry says Stop the game, ---the game immediately comes to a halt. The reason, of course, is that he is the timekeeper for all our M. C. H. S. basketball games. In this yearbook, we would like to SALUTE RED HENRY for the years he has given to this school as timekeeper. Mr. Henry and Diana Kay Walters, Scorekeeper. Mr. Henry is also an avid fisherman, as is quite evident.
