CLASS PROPHECY This is the night of June 8, the year 1974 and the push-button age is finally here. This is an age of leisure because all work is done by robots. In the gymnasium at Menifee County High School the graduating class of 1964 is holding its re- union. The first guests to arrive are our sponsors, Mr. and Mrs. Adams. They are our guests of honor. Now we see Linda Philyaw, a famous cosmetologist, and Jeri Mullins, Miss America of 1967 and now a famous model for Bazaar . Linda creates all of Jeri's fascinating hair styles. Next we see Marilyn Clark. She has just flown in from Hollywood where she has been taking a series of screen tests for her first Movie, Yesterday's Love . Over in the corner we see Randy Daugherty and James Clifford talking in low toneSw They are owners of two large insurance companies in Frenchburg. We hear they are making plans to merge the two companies. Frenchburg has an added attraction; a new bowling alley. Randall Pugh is the owner. Randall doesn't do much work because, as we said before, everything is done by pushing buttons. Tonight we have with us Diane Sorrell and Calvin Roach. Diane teaches Physical Education and Calvin is a history professor at the new college just outside Frenchburg. Barbara Bates teaches English at the same college. Everyone here is well protected as far as law is concerned. Dwight Brown is one of Kentucky's best State Patrolmen and Delorias Robinson makes an excellent police woman. The business world is well represented tonight by Paul Long and Margret Trimble. Paul is a prominent lawyer in Frenchburg and Margret is his private secretary. You don't hear of much sickness in Menifee County anymore. Dr. Martin D. Scott and two nurses who assist him, Olene Jones and Barbara Helton, do a fine job of keeping sickness down. We are greatly honored to have in our presence Miss Barbara Wells, the first woman governor of Kentucky. Everyone gathers around to greet her. What's happened! Has someone pushed the wrong button? No it's just Vicki Lacy, now Mrs. Denny Powers, pulling up in her new sports car. Vicki and her husband live in California where she is a model for Vogue . Our class is priviledged by having with us an author. Betty Peck's To Be a Success is doing well. She tells us about her many experiences as a writer. Janet Back is an outstanding science teacher at the University of Kentucky. She says, To succeed in life you really have to work--and hard. Willa Deane Faulkner is an instructor of the Nancy Taylor Beauty Course at Fugazzi Business College. All the girls are hoping they will get a chance to talk with her and maybe gain more know- ledge of good grooming. Now we push a button and refreshments are served. We see that Don Back and the former Frances Langworthy, now Mrs. Don Back, are very busy trying to keep Don Jr. out of the punch bowl. They probably wish refreshments hadn't been served yet. Don and Frances live on a large ranch in Arizona. Entertainment for the night is furnished by the world famous Bonnie Conway singing, It Happened in Frenchburg , the theme song from her latest movie in which Phyllis Cox, now Mrs. Tony Poynter, is co-starring.

David Brown is manager of Menifee County's new drag-strip. David hasn't changed much; racing cars is still his hobby. From Mickey Smith, the new coach at M. C. H. S. , we collect all the latest news about basket- ball. Everything is going fine and of course, the credit goes to Mickey for being such a good coach. Everyone is talking about one of the latest records This is Dove by Donna Sue Wilson, a great Rock'n Roll singer. We believe her record will make it to the top. Janice Gibbs' dream finally came true; she's a school teacher. Janice teaches English at M. C. H. S. When asked why she is so happy these days she replies, When you're doing what you enjoy doing, you can't help being happy. We just heard that LaVeta Spencer, an airline stewardess for T. W. A. , is making a special flight to Hawaii. She seems to be very happy, maybe it's because she has a fellow waiting at the end of each flight. Ronnie Branam is an architectural engineer. He is now making plans for Frenchburg's newest skyscraper. Ronnie is telling us about the plans. All the class, with the exception of Tim Robinson, is here tonight. Tim, a candidate in the next presidential election, intended to be here, but due to an error in his busy schedule, he was unable to be with us tonight. As we all join in the final song of the night, God Be With You we realize that soon the doors to the most wonderful years of our life, our high school years, will be closing for the final time.
