WILLS Agriculture CLASS PROPHECY As I look into the crowd of familiar faces, I can’t help but remember the good times we had together in Menifee County High. This is our home- coming that we planned in 1959 -- this is 1969. Over there by the window are the two undertakers, John Raney and J. B. Williams. Bobby Reynolds, the U. of K. coach, joins them although it isn’t on business. I slip up behind them and learn that Billy Stiltner and John Paul Hunt are two of the leaders of NAACP and are doing fine in their be- loved work. John Paul also owns a service station in which I saw the very famous car racer, David Hall. I hear someone laughing loudly and as I turn I see three Governmental officials, Jolene Smallwood, Sandra Stamper and Betty Helton reading a comic strip. Evidently it is the very famous and funny The Life of A Coach,’’ by Phyllis Lisle. Speaking of funnies, you should see Lowell Link playing oppo- site Bridgitte Bardot in the hit Ottis On Broadway.’’ Judy Barker, an obstetrician, and her nurse, Bonnie Sallee are here but have to return soon. I learned from Judy that Diana is now very happily engaged as a beautician in the beauty shop that she and her husband, James Barker own. Bonnie told me that her friends, Phyllis and Luther Keeton are living at Morehead where he teaches and she takes care of their two little kittens (Keetons.) Here come Judy Pugh, Charlene White, James Brown, and Randell Ingram all proudly wearing their blue uniforms of the U. S. Air Force. Judy and Charlene are WAF and have been in the Air Force since 1964. Randell is a jet pilot of which his wife, the former Patty Sorrell, is immensely proud. Some of the graduates volunteered to help serve tonight and they are finding the task quite pleasant. The three most successful secretaries in New York -- Sylvia Downing, Arvena Faulkner and Juanita Reynolds are slinging hash tonight. Bonnie Brown, a model just back from Paris and Bren- da Profitt Meade, a private secretary who married her boss, helped to pre- pare the delicious dinner. Since most of the food has vanished from the plates, it is time for the greatest orator of all times, Lillie Mae McCoy, to make her long delayed speech written by the writer Mrs. Harold Perry, formerly known as Kath- leen Sweeney. Through the din of applause we notice that Johnnie Johnson and Ste- ward Johnson, campaign managers for Larry Williams, are coming to the front of the room. They are announcing the candidacy of Larry for gover- nor of Kentucky PROPHECY CON T As they are returning to their seats we hear a loud knock on the door. Allura Goodpaster, a gum tester for the Bazooka Bubblegum Company and Janice Wright, professor in physics, hasten to answer the call. To our sur- prise we see Carl Tolson and Billy Wilson, magazine salesmen for Curtis Publishing Company, entering the room. As they tell about the fine maga- zines they are selling, Alene Cecil Mays, mother of six, and Mrs. Janet Day Gannon, a dress designer, raise their hands for attention. After the subscrip- tions have been sold I look around to see if there is anyone I’ve overlooked. By Jiminy! I see two that I can’t leave out. Mrs. Janice Osborne Craft and Mrs. Bobby Nichol, formerly Jean Brown, are saying their good byes to the party of graduates As our Homecoming Dinner of 1969 draws to an end our hearts are lighter than they were before we came because we’ve found everybody happy. I leave you now with echoes of “Au revoir” ringing loud in the air.
