Miller, K, Truckenbrod. R, Savlof. B. Leiser COACH IOHN RICHARDSON took over the duties of coaching and teaching a group of freshmen this iS season. Most of them had never worn a football suit. On October 28. the freshmen played host to a strong St. Bede team. The game was a real thriller right up to th: end. The score at the end of the game remained at 0-0. a well-played contest. They came back the next week to beat a stubborn Rochelle team by a 7-0 score. The third game of the season was played at Dixon, and the boys received the short end of the stick by a I4 to 7 score. Side by Side l 85Al'l'l6ll'l g00t66J Mendotas freshmen then played another home game. this time with DeKalb. The freshmen were unable to take any advantage of their own breaks. and for the second time in the season they tied 0-0. The freshmen journeyed next to Princeton, where they were beaten 6 to 0 in a well-fought battle. The game was hard-fought and seemed destined to be another 0-0 game, but the Princeton Tigers came through with a touchdown. The windup of the Freshman SS football season came with a 7-0 win over the Hall Red Devils on Mendotas home field. The freshmen won two. lost two, and tied two --- a well-rounded season.
