Vloe Rollins, came the joy of seeing another line Tro- jan squad win the North Central Illinois Cionlierence championship. It was the seventh consecutive win for Lewis-coached Trojan teams. XVith the windup of the 1955 football season there was a great deal of recognition given to mem- bers of the squad. On the All-Conference first team were: Ray rlauch. Bill Brown. Bob Bradshaw. Elwood Schlesinger. Ken Gehler. Gordon Inman, Clayton lfrey. and Bob Bumba. lfred Hanley and Bill Dickey were on the second team. and Howard Becker re- tcix ed honorable mention. Ray .Iauch was placed on the All-State tirst team. and Ken Gehler. Ifred Han- ley. and Bill Brown received honorable mention. Much credit. according to the eoaches. must be gn en to the substitutes for their line work on both the practice and playing field. As a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. so it is with a football team and its weakest player. Coach Lewis was very much pleased with this years substitutes and the way they developed as the season progressed. The ex- perience. lor them. was invaluable. for it is from this group that many ol' next year's regulars will be thosen. A great deal of credit for the seasons tine record goes also to john Hood. who so adeptly handled the duties ot' manager.
