A Tribute to Our Boys in Service MYRA J. Howes lleroic action ever kindlcs a iiame which illuminates its immediate circle. For this reason, each of the innumerable towns and cities of our country is glor- ified by the band of soldiers it has given to the World War. Not least among these is Mendota. Not only do the relatives and friends of individual heroes stand in the reflected light of bravery, but her separate organizations of churches, lodges and schools claim their respective share of borrowed glory. It is with such a feeling of pride and humility that the schools of Mendota wish to ae- knowledge all those of its numbers, whether graduates or undergraduates, whether called from Mendota or from some new home-all those who went forth loyally and served faithfully in whatever place they were assigned. Reverently would their teachers place a wreath about the names of those who cannot make us glad by their home-coming. They lie in French soil, but they have not died in vain. The following list, compiled by Miss Coffey, we believe represents all boys from the Mendota High Schools, who 1'esp0nded to their country 's call. ARMY Eugene Mueller AVlATION Lt.
