What a year! Students and faculty started the 1977-78 school year with enthusiasm and excitement. School work and fall events kept everyone busy and active. In November the local voters approved the millage for building improvements; school was three months into a great beginning. Then winter moved in and problems began. In early December weather cancelled school for six days and roads had to be travelled very carefully the remainder of the time. January followed with nine snow days; February added four days more. All will remember that in February we held the first of four Saturday classes. No one will forget the snow of '78. Even though May started out looking like April, graduation lay just around the corner. Everyone remained to the task at hand and labored diligently, happy to see spring’s arrival. May 28 was graduation and members of the class of 1978 gained their independence. The under graduates and teachers, thanks to That Winter, had seven additional days of school. As Shakespeare said, What is past is prologue.” It is only prologue if we can remember the school year of 77-78 as one of full achievement, as a year in which we learned and matured, and as a year that, despite weather difficulties, we faced and overcame hardships.
