The first money making project was serving the dinner for the Eastern Star. For our program of work, we chose Better Bou and Girl Helatlonships, this was carried out by our FHA Skating Party. At the State meeting held at Grand Rapids, Helen Birr represented out chapter along with Mary Hughes, Sue Elckhoff, Nancy Snyder and Barbara warner. At the Marching Festival, held at Vicksburg, the band received a First Division rating, and at the District Concert Contest, held at Hendon, the band was given a First Division rating for the 5th consecutive year. At the State Contest, held at East lensing, the bend received a Second Division rating. The Band played and marched at all the home football games and attended the Band Day festivities at Western Michigan College and University of Michigan. We also participated at the cemeteries for Memorial Day. The band also gave two concerts, one at Christmas time and the other during the spring. The Band Parents held dances for us and provided a roller skating party.
