Black Students Union For the first part of the year, the Black Student Union was inactive until the dynamic Mr. Lovett took command of the organization. uespn infrequent meetings, the group was still able to accomplish something. The Black Student Union made plans for a few fund-raising activities and a dance. The quasi-political functions of the group were handle by a committee of seniors. Efforts were made to expand membership to all segments of the Black community around Mendel.
