Baseball This year's Monarch Baseball team, led by the brilliant pitching of senior Roger Hirtz Q9-Ol, made a late season comeback to reach the playoffs. The Diamondmen advanced to the semi-finals before losing to the eventual Catholic League champion Loyola. The squad had a nucleus of tal- ented underclassmen which bodes well for the forthcoming season. TOP RIGHT: Jeff Kozik grimaces as he fires a strike toward the plate. Bowling Team Mendel's Bowling Team went into the city finals with high hopes for victory. The team's standing had long been sup- ported by the consistent showings of the departing seniors. Nevertheless, the iunior bowlers gave every indication that they would be able to replace the departing seniors.
