Cross Country Under the guidance of coach Ed McAllister, Mendel's Varsity Cross Country team finished third in the Catholic League behind Fenwick and St. Laurence. ln the annual Public-Catholic Cross Country meet, the team finished fifth. Throughout the year, strong individual showings were made by John Hammermeister and Derek Powell. Hammermeister finished first in the Catholic League. Track Although the team results were somewhat disappointing, individual showings were rather encouraging. The outlook for next year is generally favorable despite the small turnout of underclassmen for the team.
