Cross Country Under the guidance of coach Ed McAllister, Mendel's Varsity Cross Country team finished third in the Catholic League behind Fenwick and St. Laurence. ln the annual Public-Catholic Cross Country meet, the team finished fifth. Throughout the year, strong individual showings were made by John Hammermeister and Derek Powell. Hammermeister finished first in the Catholic League.
