Beach Club One of the most popular clubs on campus today is the 'Mendel Beach Club. Membership in the semi-official club has grown from a few devoted nature lovers to the entire senior class. This year, each member of the Beach Club received a T-shirt with the club's emblem. The club meets whenever the weather is nice at the Potawatamie or Warren Dunes. At the meetings, club members learn about the' intricate ecological balance of the sand dune. The Beach Club also organizes conservation activities in their efforts to preserve the nat- ural beauty and priceless heritage of Lake Michigan's shoreline. Members of Mendel's Beach Club view Ziggy Goes to the Beach, a conservation film produced by the Izzuk Walton League of America. fi' ,mwgy Beach Club lifeguards Jack Gavin and Joe Fiaoni demonstrate the life-saving techniques of mouth-to-mouth artificial respiration. ll4

Office Staff Working behind the scenes, Mendel's highly efficient office staff is responsible for the smooth operation of the day-to-day functions of the school. Although the staff receives little thanks for its efforts, Mendel could not operate without them.
