Chorus A new addition to Mendel's wide variety of extracurricular activi- ties was the Mendel Chorus. After several years of intermittent activity, the chorus returned to the Mendel scene. The chorus got off to a slow start but by the end of the second quarter the group was singing for many different functions. Psychology Club The study of psychic forces is the main function of Mr. Jim Lovett's Psychology J ,Q club. E y Members of the club were selected on f W the basis of their psychic abilities. Over 230 students applied for admission to the club, but only 35 students made the V grade. -I One thing the group learned was respect for the limitless powers of the mind. The club takes its work seriously and expects to expand its membership next year. In an experiment testing extra-sensory perception, Mr. Lovett asks Larry Wichlinski to close his eyes while he writes c cryptic message on a sheet of invisible paper. Their fine performance reflects the time and effort that they put into baton-twirling. Recent additions to the group's equip- ment were flaming batons and flagged batons. Using these devices, the Mende- Iettes put on an impressive show. After the football season, the group twirls batons at band concerts throughout the rest of the year.
