Library Club: Keeping pace with the demands of mod- ern education, Mendel's Library expanded its book capacity, supplemented the audio- visual program, and added a visual aids room during the year. In order to keep pace with this growth, Mendel's junior librarians contribute their talents in keeping records, filing books and magazines, and supervising the audio-visual program. Chess Club: Fostering new interest in one of the world's oldest games, The Chess Club and their moderator, Rev. Fredrick H. Taggart, O.S.A., meet other Catholics in tournament competition. They have produced a fine record in the Chicago Catholic Chess League and are a real credit to the school.
